SEND Helping Hands was founded by Jess Jeyes following the birth of her micro-preemie Jameelah at 27 weeks weighing 500grams.

After an extensive stay in the NICU, Jameelah was discharged and dependent on oxygen. By age one Jameelah had over 8 diagnoses which led to a plethora of interventions and medical appointments. This list continued to grow.

Jameelah’s medical needs led Jess down a path of needing and then creating the SEND Helping Hands ad-hoc sitting and nannying service; with herself being the first client! A service dedicated to providing physical help, balance and peace of mind to families and caregivers.

As Jameelah became of preschool age, and the pathway to her Autism and ADHD diagnosis began, it became clear that there was an opportunity for transformative change within the EHCP/SEND resource process, and Jess set to work to bridge this gap.

Jess says “It is and will always be my life mission to to bring about productive and transformative change within the SEND system”.

Our vision is to create a world where every child and young person with SEND and complex medical needs recieves the personalised support they need to thrive – academically, socially and emotionally.

We envision a future where care and education seamlessly integrate, ensuring that no child’s potential is limited by a lack of resources or specialised support.

At SEND Helping Hands, we are dedicated to bridging the gap between the needs of children with SEND and complex medical needs and the resources available to support them.

Through tailored tutoring, out-of-school care and specialist staffing solutions, we provide compassionate, high-quality services that provide both education and well-being. By collaborating with families, local authorities, and NHS services, we ensure every child recieves the individualised experneince they deserve.
