1. How to find a Helping Hand you can trust?

Upon sumibtting your profile form, we will work through our database to find your perfect Helping Hand. Within 48 hours (unless it is an urgent care referral made via phone) we will provide you with matching profiles; relevent to need, location a price.

You are then able to select and liase with your chosen Helping Hand.

We always remain a part of the service process, enabling us to ensure customer satisfaction and remedy any problems such as staff illness and/or the need for additional staff.

2. How can I access SEND Helping Hands’ services?

You can download the self referral form – giving us as much information as possible, which allows us to assess your need and work on your behalf finding your perfect Helping Hand. Self referral forms are reviewed within 24 hours.

This is a vital part in accessing our services, however, if you do have any additional questions you reach out to us through our contact form or by calling us directly for a free 20 minute consultation, this allows us to provide best advice at our initial point of contact and provide potential Helping Hands and their services within the first 24 hours.

 

3. Who can benefit from SEND Helping Hands’ services?

Anyone and everyone can use our services, however, we specifically cater to children and young people with SEND and complex medical, this also includes their parents and care givers who may be seeking support. Our services are available to those with and without diagnosis and specifically cater to the need rather then the diagnosis itself.

Whils this is a private service, many of our Helping Hands are Ofsted registered, which allows parents to use our services through Tax free and government back childcare initiatives. We also work closely with local authorities and schools as a partner of choice, allowing our services to be selected to fullfill EHCP, EOTAS and Continued Healthcare Plans.

4. How do I pay for these services?

Payment for services are made directly to your chosen Helping Hand 7 days after services have been completed, with the 15% introductory fee being made directly to SENDHH.

Services can be paid for both privately and by using allocated funding, or a mixture of both! Allocated funding through EHCP’s and CHC’s can sometimes cause a delay with which we can liase with your Helping Hand to come to an agreements.

Many of our Helping Hands are OFsted registered which allows parents to benefit from tax-free childcare and government funded c hildcare initiatives.

5. What is an EHCP (Education, Health, and Care (EHC) plan), and how can SEND Helping Hands assist with it?

An EHC plan outlines the educational, health, and social support required for a child or young person with SEND. We offer Tutoring and EOTAS packages which can also include care services to support your childs EHC plan, along with this we offer Educational consultancy, assessments and reports to support the EHC plan, whether that be for the initial application or yearly reviews, to ensure they meet the individual’s needs.

6. What is a Continued Health Care (CHC) plan, and how can SEND Helping Hands assist with it?

A Continued Health Care plan, also known as a Continued Care package is continued care in the community for children if they have needs arising from disability, accident or illness that cannot be met by existing universal or specialist services alone. SEND Helping Hands can assist where the care package includes support in your own home through the option of  a personal health budget.

8. What resources are available for parents and caregivers through SEND Helping Hands?

We pride ourselves in being being part of the wider community of all things SEND and complex medical care, with years of first hand experience, we have fostered a plethora of amazing relationships with renowned service providers, online communities and charities alike. Whilst we do not yet provide a resource hub, we do work closely with our parents and caregivers to signpost to services to support parents and provide direction to available resources, information and support communities, equipping them with the knowledge and tools needed to support their children’s journey.

9. How does SEND Helping Hands stay updated with current SEND policies and best practices?

Our team actively engages with ongoing professional development, participates in relevant conferences, and collaborates with other organisations to ensure our services align with the latest SEND policies and best practices.
